Championship Off-Road Racing on the move ---

agreeing on multi-year television pact with

the Speedvision Network
Avon, Ind. (October 9, 2001) -- Championship Off-Road Racing announced
the agreement of a three-year television contract with the Speed
Channel
Network. The contract is for three years with an additional two year
option and will include all races in both the EXXON Superflo Pro
Series and Sportsman Series.
"The significance of this move is that Championship Off-Road Racing is
a motorsport, now on a motorsport network," said CORR President Marty
Reid. "By adding the Exxon Super Flo Pro Series, formerly seen on
ESPN2, and increasing its exposure of the Sportsman Series,
Speedvision now dominates the world of off road racing television."
The Speedvision Network is the first and only 24-hour cable network
dedicated to those who share a passion for speed and the lifestyle
that goes with it. Speedvision features over 1,500 hours of original
programming.
"50% of the US cable homes have the Speed Channel Network, and 100%
Direct TV satellite users have access to the Speed Channel Network. Speedvision
expects their viewership to be at 60 million homes by our first air in
2002," said CORR Marketing Director Jamie Devney. He added, "It is no
secret NASCAR brings a huge viewer base with it. For example, their
move to the FX network skyrocketed their viewership from 50 to 80
million homes in only one year. Researchers expect the same impact on
Speedvision."
Each round of the CORR Lucas Oil Series will air three times.
Included in the three airs are one east coast and west coast Prime
Time slot. Speedvision will provide guaranteed air time for the CORR
EXXON Superflo Series.
"The importance of having guaranteed air times where our fans can find
us every week when we're racing is extremely important to the success
and growth of our series," said Reid. "Included in the three airs is
one east coast and one west coast prime time slot with the plan being
for each race to air on the same day and time."
Undoubtedly, FOX's recent purchase of the Speed Channel network will
help the exposure of Championship Off-Road Racing to racing fans from
all over the world, on a network dedicated to motorsports 24 hours a
day.
"The advantage FOX brings is their relationship with NASCAR," said
Reid. "NASCAR is the number one racing series in the United States
and with more NASCAR programming on Speed Channel, the demand by viewers
for the network will be substantially increased and that in turn will
help CORR."
The FOX purchase of Speedvision, while initially holding up the
closure of the new agreement, in the end turned out to be a huge
benefit to CORR. The fans, drivers, and sponsors of the CORR Series can take advantage of CORR's exposure on
Speed Channel.
As the only network dedicated to motor sports in today's television
market with hundreds of stations to choose from, it will be easy to
find Championship Off-Road Racing.
"It was imperative that Championship Off-Road Racing look to the
future and align itself to be seen by 'racing' enthusiasts," said
Devney. "This clearly was the right time to make this move."
Already working with premiere automotive industry leaders, CORR's move
to Speed Channel will benefit the existing sponsors of the series
because they know their target audience will consist of automotive
enthusiasts. Now with 84 hours of programming, the cumulative
ratings, values and exposure of the CORR Series will
soar, said Devney.
"If you're a race fan, the first place you're going to tune will be
Speed Channel. That is important to the future of Championship Off-Road
Racing and our sponsors," said Reid.

Geographical
Markets
Our goal at Dan Baudoux Motorsports is to expand into different
geographic markets. Since late 1999,
CORR
Division racers have been
showcased on the
Speed Channel
network. Thousands of spectators who attend off-road events view
approximately 84 hours of direct televised coverage on Speedvision,
giving Dan Baudoux Motorsports wide-ranging exposure.
Many facilities from around the country have made inquiries to CORR
regarding the potential for sanctioned events at their tracks. Dan
Baudoux Motorsports welcomes this possibility and will enter any
additional events sanctioned by CORR.
At Dan Baudoux Motorsports, we realize how important strategic
geographic venues are to our advertising sponsors. |
