MOLE LAKE DOMINATES AT “THE BIG HOUSE”

Over the Labor Day weekend in rounds 9 and 10 of the World Series Of Off Road Racing in Super Stock Trucks, the #217 Ford F150 of “Rocket Man” Dan Baudoux showed over 120,000 fans what off road racing is all about. In the process, Baudoux’s third place finish Saturday and huge win Sunday made Mole Lake Casino, Resort, Lodge and Conference Center a household word in Crandon, Wisconsin!

Under sunny skies and 85 degree temperatures, record crowds were in attendance to watch big truck teams in several classes battle it out trying to position themselves closer to season ending championships.

In the Super Truck Stock Class, “Rocket Man” Dan Baudoux came off the starting line in second place and challenging for the lead. However after several heated laps, Baudoux began to uncharacteristically fall back off the pace. Experiencing fuel pump problems and starving his Ford Racing engine, Baudoux now found himself in a fight to hang on for a podium finish. With his truck lacking power, it was shear skill and determination that allowed the “Rocket Man” to hang on for a third place finish and a trip to the podium.

After all night repairs on the famous #217 Ford F150 and having to completely re-dial an engine that was damaged from running on too lean a fuel mixture, Dan was determined and focused on his mission!

At the green flag’s drop on Sunday, the “Rocket Man” pulled the hole shot and found himself rounding the famous Crandon International Raceway’s turn one in his customary first place position. Within a few hundred yards Baudoux was three seconds up over the second place truck and after one lap and subsequently #217 held a commanding eight second lead to the checkered flag.

Accepting his first place trophy, The Rocket Man appropriately thanked his valued sponsors, Mole Lake Casino, especially Tom VanZile, BFGoodrich, Ford Truck Racing, CST Suspensions, Teamtech, Amsoil, MSD, Precision Gear, Mastercraft, CNC, American Racing Wheels, VP Racing Fuels, KC, and the many other associate sponsors that make racing possible.

Then at 5pm Sunday, in the always wild & wooly $125,000 Borg Warner “Shootout” staging 22 trucks from several classes in the same race, The Mole Lake Ford F150 of Baudoux was forced to start at the very back of the pack. Being at a huge disadvantage racing against unlimited 2 and 4 wheel drive classes Baudoux after 10 laps emerged as the 9th place truck overall and the first truck in his class to cross the finish line. Again a performance of driving mastery for the Rocket Man and of tremendous significance for Mole Lake Casino, Lodge and Conference Center. Immediately after the weekend events, the Rocket Man signed autographs and entertained guests at the amazing new Mole Lake Casino, Lodge and Conference Center, just 7 miles from the Crandon Track.

Rounds 11 and 12, the final two rounds of the 2007 season are to be held September 22 and 23 in Wheatland, Missouri.
